First happy customer and...Ooh la laa!!

My first customer received her set of hand-drawn note-cards and left this lovely comment on my Facebook page:

Knowing that someone appreciates my work so much to purchase it and expose it in their home feels an invaluable achievement, so thanks to my first buyer!!

And now, as announced on my page, allow me to introduce a new collection that will hopefully make you go...Ooh la la!!

Hand-painted with graphite, pencils and watercolour on  four A5 white folded note-cards, featuring four types of delicious French pastries, inspired by the famous luxury bakery Ladurée.

The Tutti-frutti Collection

Now that my first set of illustrated cards has been sold, I feel ever so motivated to carry on drawing.
Needless to say, I love it too much to ever stop, but knowing that there is someone willing to buy my creations is the best booster for my artistic ego!

So I really hope you're going to appreciate my newest creation.
I have named it the "Tutti-frutti" collection as it's very... Fruity!

Good news and working on new goodies!

First the good news: yesterday I sold the first set of cards from my Etsy shop.
This was the one:

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSS!!
Please excuse my excitement, but it does feel like a big milestone, kinda like the first penny ever made by Scrooge McDuck.
The buyer told me that she's going to frame them and put them on her kitchen wall, which makes me immensely happy and proud.
I really do hope this is the first of many sales, as nothing makes me happier than working on my illustrations.

A greedy artist

I love illustrating food.

I cannot get enough. I guess I am a "greedy artist". 

In fact, that is exactly what I want to be! I mean, I want to specialize in illustrating realistic food. 

Seriously, you should see my face, when I see all these yummy things come to life on the paper!

I think I've got a problem

I am addicted to paint yummy things! 

I am also fascinated by the idea of being able to make my food illustrations look as real as possible.

A more "realistic" type of art is definitely my ultimate goal.

A change of (he)art

Maybe it's a sign of maturity, I don't know.
All I know is that since when, a few days ago, I have become the happy owner of my first ever set of 45 Winsor and Newton watercolours, my life has changed.

I have always had a "thing" for watercolours, but so far I had only ever used very cheap (and, quite frankly) a bit unprofessional makes, because I had never taken my art seriously enough to invest more money in it.
But...What was I thinking???

Since Winsor and Newton watercolours came into my life, ALL I want to do is turning the WHOLE WORLD INTO A BIG WATERCOLOUR PICTURE, by painting everything I see and like the look of.
So, from now on...Forget the cartoons (at least for a while). I have decided to specialize in a more realistic type of art and improve my watercolouring skills as much as I can.

The artist diet

Based on the rule: PAINT YOUR CRAVINGS INSTEAD OF EATING THEM, the artist diet should be perfect if you are trying to watch your figure...
Not so much  if, just like me, you are very good at multi-tasking and can perfectly paint and eat both at the same time!

Anyway, my cravings often look like this:

This is only a painting though, so no calories are involved, but only WATERCOLOUR and GRAPHITE on a 8.5 " X 6" card.

Like all my paintings, it is available for purchase under offer (which means YOU decide the price, based on what you think it's worth.)
Whichever it is, your offer is more than likely to be accepted, as I am only just starting off...But you never know, you may end up owning a very valuable masterpiece on your wall one day! Haha!
